Features were missing out… which could be seen/should be seen this year!

• 2nd Camera |video calling|
• Adobe flash – which looks like its on its way in a software upgrade
• 32GB and/or microSD[or other] capable memory card slots
• MMS – multimedia messaging – come on! the iPhone is an entertainment phone!
• Video Recording – same, like its an entertainment phone!!!
• Advanced Bluetooth functionalities – stereo bluetooth capabilities?? why avoid it, again entertainment phone! a necessity!

The development has only recently started [and Apple has only just partnered up] hence users should wait a while before expecting to receive an iPhone update for this feature.

Steve Jobs has been concerned about user expectations for over a year now, and is promising a solution to meet users needs. Flash lite wasn’t a success as it was very “feature limited”, not allowing users basic features such as playing flash videos.

The main focus seems to be to provide a fully-equipped version of flash that isn’t very resource heavy on the iPhone’s processor(s)

Appearance

iTunes has a very simple, plain, look and feel which is very appelaing although on the other hand WMP 11 boasts a feature - skins, where you can change the look and feel to your liking, although in my opinion the default is the best thats there and hence comparing the two default skins, iTunes has the better feel.

Performance

As far as performance goes, on a decent comptuer you shouldn’t see much difference between the two programmes. Although, on iTunes, while accessing the iTunes store, there is considerable lag while scrolling down the page, especially on the app. store section but only occasional, but when it occurs it can be a problem!

Library Management

By a large margin, iTunes. People would debate this but after using WMP for years, and changing recently too iTunes, its a heck of a lot easier to manager your media – better access to playlists, shuffle actually shuffles and does not keep a ‘pattern’ for shuffling songs, easier to naviagte throught the library, and is always consistant ! unlike WMP, where it does the thinking for you. Had an experience once where it categorised my album by alphabets of which i still haven’t foound and answer on how to revert it
